You can specialize in transportation design from recently started courses in NID Ahmadabad, IIT Mumbai, and IIT Delhi.

What is the duration of full time courses in India?
Full time MDes – 2 years
Full time Bdes – 4 years

How much is the course fee for Industrial design courses?
It can start from less then 30K charged by government owned institutions (IISc, IIT etc) and can go up to 7.5 Lakhs per annum charged by some private colleges as(rough estimate)

What is the kind of salary I can expect after finishing my course and successful placement?
You can expect somewhere between 1.4 – 1.6 times of a typical engineer with same experience as yours in the Initial phase of your carrier (rough estimate).

What are the other options after finsihing industrial design course?
Good no of students start their own design houses in partnership else you can independently work as a freelancer. Also now, there is increasing trend of people leaving the Indutrial design / automotive design after 6-8 years of exparince and getting into movies props design, set design and fantasy design

What is the eligibility for MDes and BDes?
For MDes you require minimum of 10 +2 +4 system of education (which translates into an engineering degree or BDES)
For BDes – 10 + 2 any stream
